PREPARATION OF FABRIC

Once a fabric is prepared for printing, it is called as RFP – ready for printing. Below are the process flow charts for RFP of different types fabric. 

                                      

 

PREPARATION OF PRINTING PASTE

The actual essential ingredients required to make the printing paste depends upon the type of colouring matter, type of fabric and method of printing. The most important ingredients in a printing paste are:

• Colour Matter (In case of white, no colouring matter is required)

• Thickener (not required in batik, foam printing)

• Auxiliaries

In general a list of ingredients required is below:

• Dye stuff or Pigments (Colouring matter)

• Solvents

• Hygroscopic Agents

• Wetting Agents

• Thickeners

• Oxidising Agents

• Reducing Agents

• Catalysts

• De-foaming Agents

• Acids and Alkalis

• Carriers
